Course Information:
Join Dets Skrypczak for a one-week course on restoring your old furniture, or to start your own restoration business. The course entails the sharpening of hand tools and their maintenance, stripping wood, joints (mortise and tenon), removing old glue and replacing pieces, laminating, veneer edging and restoring/replacing, colouring, staining, sanding and polishing/spraying.
Course Dates: Courses dates will be determined based on demand, three people minimum.
Venue: No. 172, College Rd. Nooitgedacht, Muldersdrift
Duration: 5 days, Monday to Friday, 09h00 – 16h00
Cost: R 4860 (includes all materials and teas - provide your own lunch)
Payment: A deposit of R1500 is required to confirm any booking. The balance of the course fee is payable on the first day of the course or before.

- Sharpening, handling and maintenance of hand tools
- Tuesday
- Stripping wood joins, ( mortise and tenons ) and re-making new joins
- Wednesday
- Removing old glue from joins, replacing pieces lamination veneer edging and restoring
- Thursday
- Colouring and staining techniques, and different sanding techniques
- Friday
- Spraying, polishing and buffing
